After your overnight flight, arrive in Croatia's capital, Zagreb, and enjoy a welcome dinner with your fellow travelers. The following day, explore the city on a walking tour, admiring its medieval upper town. Next, travel to Opatija, the favorite spa resort of the Habsburgs' European aristocracy and celebrities such as Mahler, Chekhov, and Isadora Duncan.

Opatija, Istria Peninsula, & Plitvice Lakes
 
Today, visit Pula, a strategic port in ancient Roman times, and tour the 2000-year-old amphitheater, the sixth largest of its kind still preserved. Then, enjoy free time to explore Rovinj, one of the most beautiful towns in Istria. The next day, head south to Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hike through the park, admire numerous waterfalls, and enjoy a boat ride across Kozjak Lake.

Day 6-7
 
Zadar, Split, & Trogir
 
Journey to the historic town of Zadar, home to the famous Zadar Sea Organs. Then, visit a local winery in the Dalmatian hinterland and savor a wine tasting paired with Croatian-style tapas. The following day, wander through Split, Croatia's second-largest city, and visit the 4th-century palace built by Emperor Diocletian. Continue to Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with 2300 years of urban traditions.

Ston, Dubrovnik, & USA
 
Stop in Ston and taste the famous "Plavac Mali" wine at a local winery. Continue to Dubrovnik and enjoy a walking tour of its Old City, including the Franciscan Monastery, Clock Tower, St. Laurence Fortress, and more. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure exploring its stone-paved avenues. Bid farewell the next day as you transfer to the airport for your return flight to the USA.
