Indonesia
Recent turmoil presents a challenge, but the archipelago's natural beauty and rich culture trump all. Fringed by gorgeous beaches, looming volcanoes punctuate the horizon. In tourist-friendly towns, streets are clean, restaurants and boutiques cheerful and inviting. Nature parks teem with birds and exotics like the crab-eating macaque monkeys. Clear, calm waters make Indonesia a renowned diving destination.
