Highlights

  1. Tallinn

Viru Gate, TallinnDiscover Tallinn, one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Northern Europe. Once home to wealthy merchants, Tallinn Old Town today is enjoyed by locals and travelers alike, with restaurants, bars, museums, and galleries bringing vibrant life to this historical city center. Tallinn has preserved its structure of medieval and Hanseatic origin, resulting in a spot on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list in 1997. Feel the aura of the 14th and 15th-century walls, towers, and soaring church spires as you walk along the winding streets. Visit the 14th-century Gothic Town Hall, the Dome Cathedral, the magnificent pink Baroque-style Toompea Palace, and the Alexander Nevsky Orthodox Cathedral.

  2. Kadriorg Palace

Kadriorg PalaceFounded in 1718 by Russian Tsar Peter I in honor of his wife Catherine I, Kadriorg Palace is considered a crown jewel of Tallinn. The magnificent palace was designed by Italian architect Nicola Michetti, and its spectacular main hall is one of the most beautiful examples of Baroque architecture in Estonia and Northern Europe. Outside, colorful gardens and flowerbeds surround the palace, waiting to be admired. The Kardriorg Palace is also home to the National Art Museum, which exhibits an assortment of brilliant pieces from international artists dating back to the 16th-20th centuries.<.p>

  3. Lahemaa National Park

Boardwalk in Laheema National ParkEstonia's largest national park, Lahemaa National Park, is home to the country's best breathtaking natural landscapes. Bogs and lush forests cover nearly three-quarters of Estonia, teeming with moose, wild boar, bears, and lynx. Walk along the boardwalks while exploring a traditional Estonian bog, and take in the sights and sounds around you. Listen to the relaxing sound of water cascading at the Jägala waterfall, and marvel at the massive boulders along the coast that traveled to the country with the glaciers during the last Ice Age! End your day of exploration at the enchanting 400-year-old fishing village of Altja, dating back to the mid-1400s.

  4. Toompea Palace

Toompea PalaceThe magnificent pink Baroque-style Toompea Palace was built in the 1700s after its castle was constructed among the foundations of the 13th-14th-century fortress. The history of Toompea is the story of the rulers and conquerors of Estonia, each of whom molded and reinforced the place to their own needs. Today, the castle is home to the Estonian parliament. The national flag can be seen flying produly atop the Hermann tower as the symbol of Estonia's independence.
