Dear Traveler,

As I sit on a terrace overlooking the ancient citadel of Machu Picchu (munching on some grass!), I can't help but think how grateful I am that Peru is safe, open, and easy to visit! We waited a long time, but adventurous folks like you are starting to return, filling us with pride.

As an Alpaca, I haven't had a chance to visit many museums, cities, historic sites, and restaurants that make us such a traveler hotspot. But I hear people rave about the Larco Herrera Museum in Lima and how it holds thousands of ceramics representing dozens of ancient cultures that have lived here. They talk about the Pisac Market, where they shopped for beautiful handicrafts and colorful fabrics like the ones people have been weaving in these mountains for generations. They can't wait to have ceviche, followed by a Pisco Sour (or two!). And they can't get enough of those amazing Uros floating communities built of reeds at Lake Titicaca!

Ultimately, everyone comes to Machu Picchu, though—as if it were the crown jewel of their trip. And it should be! So, I'll hang out here until you arrive—the weather is beautiful, and there's plenty to see.

See you soon,

PS. Did you know that the local governments let us visit Machu Picchu so we can help keep the grass mowed? It's true!
