You are standing atop a mountain, the sun scorching your skin just as it has already done to the drought punished ground you stand on. You are completely alone, even though you are surrounded by hundreds. This was Elijah’s point of view as he stood on Mount Carmel and faced off against 450 false prophets in a contest to prove who was the one true God. 1 Kings 18 records that day ending with fire falling from heaven and the Lord God once again showing Himself to be all-powerful God above all gods.
The hearts of many in Israel turned back to God that day, and lives were transformed forever. And they still are today –– in the land where Elijah stood on Mount Carmel with only God on his side –– in the land where the Bible comes alive…in the land of Israel.
Mount Carmel is only one of dozens of significant sites where we will encounter the land, the words, and the God of the Bible during our SEU Extended Education Biblical Study Tour, November 4-13, 2022.
Imagine experiencing first-hand, places like the Mount of Beatitudes, Caesarea, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Masada, ancient Dan, and so many more sites of great significance to those who love the Bible.
Visualize yourself walking along the shores of the Sea of Galilee where Jesus fed the 5000 or where He called His disciples, or hiking the secret trail up to David’s Waterfall at Ein Gedi. Imagine standing on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea where Peter went to the house of Cornelius and the Gospel burst forth to the Gentiles. Picture yourself overlooking the Valley of Armageddon... all this with Bible in hand.
Now envision opening your Bible and experiencing before your eyes everything transforming from flat, black & white to high definition, 3-D, brilliant color – something that will remain with you the rest of your life!
In addition, we’ll be enjoying times for personal and group worship, sharing communion, celebrating with those who will be baptized in the Jordan River, individual sightseeing, shopping, food tasting, and so very much more!
The tour price of $3699 includes round-trip air fare from San Francisco, all hotels, a full buffet breakfast and dinner each day in our hotel, and all scheduled entrance fees and other touring costs.
We’ve designed and led dozens of Biblical study tours to Israel. We promise this tour has exceptional features you just won’t find on other tours, such as a full Passover meal (for lunch!) at a Messianic Kibbutz outside of Jerusalem, and a comprehensive study tour manual.
While the tour is scheduled to fit into the Fall, Session B academic calendar at Southeastern University’s Extended Education campuses and teaching sites, it is not limited to SEU students. If you have family or friends that you’d like to accompany you on the tour, they are most welcome! Students, however, can take this tour for credit as the major component of the online course BIBL 3633 Historical Biblical Geography.
So check out the details on this webpage. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us any time at (209) 718-6130- Dr. Dale or (209) 718-6131-Tara. We look forward to being part of your trip of a lifetime.
