From the complex flavors of wine and the warm Mediterranean sunshine that spills across the countryside bathing everything in a golden glow to the wealth of artistic and opulent masterpieces and the turquoise blue waters that lap the stunning Amalfi coast, Italy offers treasures that nourish the body, mind and soul. Our newest small group tour is designed to ensure your dream trip to this unforgettable destination not only hits the must-see sights but helps gain deep insights into the art, culture and friendly people of Italy, the secret sauce that makes Italy among the most visited countries in the world.
Begin in Venice for two nights of art, night life and history. Stroll through St. Mark's Square; enjoy a Murano glass blowing demonstration, and give traditional screen printing a try at a hands-on workshop. Head to Bologna where you'll visit FICO, the largest agri-food park in the world, then continue to Florence, where you'll explore masterpiece after masterpiece here in the city of art, including Michelangelo's David. Enjoy a guided tour of Oltrarno to get acquainted with the working class side of the city where you'll explore a maze of workshops, jewelers, potters, crystal millers and more. Travel through the winelands of Tuscany to a winery in the heart of Chianti, stopping for a tour and tasting, arriving in Rome, the Eternal City, to experience its magic! Your guide will bring history to life at Vatican, where you'll visit the impressive Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Basilica, look up and have your breath taken away at the expansive, magnificent Sistine Chapel. Then, step back in time to a land of ancient gods as you tour the Colosseum and the Roman Forum.
After the hustle and bustle of the big city, travel to Naples to indulge in traditional Margherita pizza and visit Pompeii, a city seemingly frozen in time after Vesuvius' historic eruption in 79 A.D. End your epic trip in style as you arrive in Sorrento for a day of leisure and independent adventure with a backdrop of blue skies and gentle waves, or join our optional excursion to visit the blue grottoes of Capri.
