Located in the Old Town district, Hotel Santa Lucia is one of Cuenca's most historic antique buildings. Newly renovated with all the modern conveniences, it has become an integral part of Cuenca's antique building collection, delivering the elegant atmosphere of yesteryear in Ecuador.
The house where the Santa Lucia hotel is now located was built by the first governor of Azuay province, Don Manuel Vega Davila, in 1859. The restoration of the house began in 1999 and lasted more than two and a half years. Hotel Santa Lucia has preserved this piece of Cuenca heritage, keeping this house as an example of the architectural style of the last part of the 19th Century in Ecuador.
Each room is equipped with all the requirements of a boutique hotel while maintaining the modern comfort and unique style of the Republican era. Each room is fitted with a plasma screen TV with premium cable, digital safe, mini bar, radio alarm clock, hairdryer, wireless high speed Internet, & bottled water.
Hotel Santa Lucia has several dining options which offer quality food and service with a touch of 19th Century charm. Located in the central courtyard, Trattoria Novecento transforms to a gourmet world where service and attention are the main features. The menu offers a myriad of Italian dishes in addition to the most exquisite selection of world wines. INTI is a restaurant that presents the evolution of Ecuadorian cuisine fused with the best ingredients of each region. Moshi Moshi is a lounge that proposes the best environment for people of all ages and serves light snacks.
