Entry Requirements & Travel Visas

Entry requirements are provided for your convenience. However, unless otherwise stated, it is your responsibility to determine the requirements that apply to you and your trip and to comply with them, including obtaining any necessary visas or other travel documents by the required deadlines and carrying them with you.
U.S. citizens must have a passport which is valid for at least six months from your expected date of departure from Sri Lanka, with at least one blank page. U.S. passport holders must have a visa to enter Sri Lanka. For tourist stays up to 30 days, obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) through the Sri Lankan Government’s ETA website no more than 90 days prior to arrival, and print and carry a copy of the ETA when you travel.
