Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 June 18: Depart USA

  • Board your overnight flight to Israel from San Francisco. Aloft, we will have dinner, time to sleep, breakfast, and the opportunity to praise the Lord for His beautiful creation from the vantage point of 35,000 feet!

Day 2 June 19: Tel Aviv

  • Arrive in Tel Aviv
  • Meet your Tour Director-Guide
  • Check-in at your hotel

Tel Aviv

Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport. After passing through passport control and customs, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel to check-in. Get a good night sleep tonight to be ready for your Israel adventure in the morning. 

Day 3 June 20: Judea, Caesarea, Mt. Carmel, Migdal, Nazareth & Tiberias

  • Excavations of the port city of Caesarea
  • Mt Carmel, where Elijah defeated the priests of Ba’al
  • Migdal – Home of Mary Magdalene
  • Nazareth and Mary’s Well

Ruins, Caesarea

After breakfast in the hotel, take a panoramic tour of ancient Jaffa, then drive north along the Mediterranean Sea to Caesarea, Roman capital of Judea. Here you’ll view the beautifully restored theater, and the ruins of the ancient town, its harbor, and aqueduct. Drive along the sea to Mt. Carmel and Muhraka, where Elijah defeated the priests of Ba’al then travel inland to Migdal, home of Mary Magdalene and the site of recent excavations that have uncovered a Jewish synagogue from the time of Jesus’ ministry in the Galilee. Continue to Nazareth, where you’ll visit Mary’s Well and the Basilica of the Annunciation.

This afternoon, arrive at Kibbutz Nof Ginossar on the Sea of Galilee, and view the first century “Jesus Boat,” found by members of the kibbutz after a drought in 1985 caused the water level in the Sea of Galilee to fall, exposing this ancient boat. Buried in a mud bank for almost two millennia, it is the only ancient boat recovered from the Sea of Galilee. 

Day 4 June 21: Galilee

After breakfast, set sail on the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum, Jesus’ ministry base in the Galilee, where He performed numerous miracles and preached frequently throughout the area, including at the synagogue in Capernaum. Continue to Karazin, a city condemned by Jesus, and the Mt. of Beatitudes, site of the Sermon on the Mount. Drive via the Hula Valley, with spectacular panoramic views of the fertile fields of the Galilee to Mt. Bental and the bunkers used by the Syrians during Yom Kippur War. Visit the former Syrian fortifications and time permitting, visit the Canaanite city of Hazor rebuilt by King Solomon.

Day 5 June 22: Yardenit, Be’it Shean, Jordan Valley & Jerusalem

  • Take part in a baptism at Yardenit on the Jordan River
  • Tour Beit She’an
  • Drive through the Jordan Valley with stop at Jericho and up to Jerusalem

Beit She’an

Begin your day at Yardenit, a special site on the Jordan River, for a Baptism service. Continue to Beit She’an, an ancient city which archeologists have extensively excavated and consider the best preserved Roman-Byzantine city in Israel, with beautiful, colonnaded streets, bath houses, and magnificent mosaics. Continue south through the Jordan Valley to Jericho, the oldest known city in the world. It is near Jericho that John baptized Jesus. Continue up to Jerusalem, highlight of your visit to Israel. Stop for a beautiful overview of the Old City from Mt. Scopus, then continue to your hotel to check in.

Day 6 June 23: Old City of Jerusalem

Today, enjoy a full day of sightseeing in the Old City of Jerusalem, exploring your Christian heritage and its Jewish roots. Begin your day with a visit to the Mount of Olives, Walk the Palm Sunday path to Dominus Flevit Chapel, and visit the ancient olive trees in the Garden of Gethsemane. Drive through and the Kidron Valley to Mount Zion, the site of the Upper Room and the Cock’s Crow Church (St. Peter in Gallicantu), commemorating the triple denial of Jesus by His apostle Peter, his repentance and reconciliation with Jesus after the Resurrection. Enter the Old City within the walls and walk the Via Dolorosa, the agonizing route Jesus walked with the cross on the way to Golgotha. Visit the restored Jewish Quarter, the Western (Wailing) Wall, and continue to the City of David and Hezekiah’s tunnel. End the day at the Garden Tomb. 

Day 7 June 24: Old City of Jerusalem Outside the Walls & Bethlehem

  • City of David
  • Yad Vashem, Memorial to the Holocaust
  • Bethlehem

After breakfast, visit the City of David, a major archeological site that reveals the birthplace of Jerusalem and is considered the most important excavation in Israel. Continue to the Memorial to the Holocaust at Yad Vashem. This afternoon, visit Bethlehem, with Shepherd’s Field and the Church of the Nativity. 

Day 8 June 25: Masada, Ein Gedi & Qumran

  • Visit Masada, the last stand against the Romans
  • Enjoy a hike through Ein Gedi Nature Reserve to David’s Waterfall
  • View the Qumran Caves

Drive south to the Dead Sea area and ascend by cable car to the fortress of Masada, where Jewish defenders made their last stand against Rome in AD 73. Continue along the shore of the Dead Sea to Ein Gedi and David’s waterfall within the wonderful nature center here. Enjoy an opportunity for a dip in the buoyant waters of the Dead Sea then continue to the Qumran Caves, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Return to Jerusalem.

Day 9 June 26: Leisure Day in Jerusalem

  • Consider a visit to the Old City Market (Shuk) or the Mahane Yehuda Market
  • Enjoy a coffee in pedestrian Ben Yehuda Street
  • Farewell Dinner

Take advantage of a full day at leisure to stroll the busy streets of Jerusalem and enjoy the sights and sounds of the world’s most desired city. Explore the Old City Market, or Shuk, considered the mercantile heart of Jerusalem from at least Ottoman times, or Mahane Yehuda Market, considered one of the most important symbols of today’s Jerusalem. Or stroll over to pedestrian Ben Yehuda Street and find a seat at one of the outdoor cafes for some people-watching.

Ask your guide for suggestions or find adventures on your own. There is plenty to see and do in Jerusalem, and you won’t find any difficulty filling up your day with unforgettable experiences.

Day 10 June 27: Israel/USA

  • Transfer to Ben Gurion Airport early this morning to board your return flight to the USA.
