Taj Sawai Madhopur Lodge is a beautiful hunting lodge built in 1930 by Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II. It is conveniently located 20 minutes from the Ranthambore wildlife sanctuary where you can observe several species of animals in their natural habitat. The hotel covers an area of 12 acres which includes lush green lawns, magnificent gardens, and quaint cottages.
Taj Swai Madhopur Lodge has a total of 29 elegantly appointed guestrooms including several suites. All guestrooms and suites embody rustic style and comfort. Long ago ministers as well as royals accompanying the Maharaja, used to stay in the guestrooms. The suites are spacious and are part of the original 1930-1935 accommodation, used by the Maharaja of Jaipur and his personal guests. In fact, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip once stayed in these suites on their visit to Sawai Madhopur.
The Taj Sawai Madhopur Lodge offers a distinctive dining experience, one that explores the nuances of the finest Indian and international cuisines, serving traditional and contemporary favorites. You can enjoy a casual atmosphere in either the Dining Hall or out in the open air of the Neem Terrace. Here guests are able to enjoy a bon fire in the evenings with live folk dance/puppet show or a talk and slide show presentation by a naturalist.
For recreation there is a wildlife slide show, nature talk, badminton, croquet, tennis, pool table, jogging, bicycles, and day spa where guests can enjoy a body massage.
