Located near the oldest desert in the world, Sossusvlei Lodge is a luxurious retreat. The Lodge is stituated on a 40,000 hectare private reserve at the entrance gate to Seriem Canyon and the famous Sossusvlei in Namib Naukluft Park. Shaded by camel thorn trees, the Lodge blends in perfectly with its remarkable surroundings.
Each of the 45 individual rooms, with canvas roofs and adobe-style plaster walls, are uniquely designed to blend in with the natural surrounding environment. These spacious bedrooms feature air-conditioning, sitting area, vanity, coffee-and-tea making facilities, in-room safe, and a patio to enjoy the magnificent views. The en-suite bathrooms are equipped with shower, toilet, and sink.
The restaurant at Sossusvlei Lodge offers delectable meals and award-winning wines. The dining area has a large al fresco terrace overlooking the desert plains. In the evening, look to the floodlit waterhole to watch the passing oryx, springbok, jackal, ground squirrel and hyena. The bar is a great place to cool off and enjoy some refreshment after the day’s adventure. Or stop by the Acacia Beer Garden and relax under the shade of an age-old camel thorn tree.
