The 4-star Hotel Massimo D'Azeglio in Rome has a long and colorful history that - in spite of its many renovations - has been able to hold onto its late nineteenth century atmosphere and style. It is centrally located near the Termini Railway Station, and is an easy walk to the National Museum of Rome, the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Trevi Fountain, the Coliseum, Imperial Forums, and the Opera House. Its proximity to the hub of the subway system enables you to move around the city easily.
The hotel's 184 elegantly decorated rooms are distributed on 5 floors, one of which is dedicated to non-smokers. Hotel Massimo D'Azeglio also has a well-known restaurant and a tavern, La Cantina, which has an important collection of wines.
The inspiration for the decoration of the Hotel Massimo D'Azeglio is the provincial baroque style of the Piedmont region. The rooms - some of which are particularly large - have recently been renovated to offer an even higher level of comfort. The oak furniture, hardwood floors, high ceilings and large windows all contribute to the charming, pleasant atmosphere. A keen sense of tradition is one of the hallmarks characterizing each of the rooms of Hotel Massimo D'Azeglio, along with an attempt to provide a high level of comfort by paying special attention to every detail.
All rooms are sound-proofed and equipped with individual air conditioning controls, telephone, mini-bar, color TV with international channels, and an in-room safe. The bathrooms have either a tub or shower and include complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer.
The Ristorante Massimo D’Azeglio has preserved its splendid woodwork from the early 1900s. Its walls are adorned with a collection of drawings and paintings representing the heroes and statesmen of the Risorgimento. Its refined, warm and welcoming atmosphere has maintained the same style it had under King Umberto as well as its traditional Italian cuisine. Ask the Maître D' of the Ristorante Massimo D’Azeglio to suggest one of its gastronomic delights such as fresh ravioli, pasta orecchiette with broccoli and ricotta, or grilled fish, beef, and lamb dishes. Complement your meal with one of the many vintage wines, which by tradition are especially chosen by the Bettoja family to enhance the menu selections.
La Cantina tavern is located in the cellar of Hotel Massimo D'Azeglio and is a genuine wine cellar decorated with old wooden tables and an extraordinary and priceless wine selection, including thousands of valuable Italian and French wines, some dating back to the early 20th century. In the past, people would come here to enjoy a glass of wine while also eating one of Italy's many cheeses. Over the years, La Cantina has become an unforgettable place for wine tastings and candlelit dinners.
Start your day with an international buffet at the Hotel Massimo D'Azeglio's cheerful breakfast room. The menu includes cereal, fresh fruit and juices, freshly baked hot pastries, as well as cold cuts, cheese and yogurt in an elegant and refined setting. Nearby is the “Sala Spagnola” that can also be used for breakfast on busy days.
The comfortable and elegant Bar Massimo D'Azeglio, located at the back of the lobby, is the perfect place to meet for a drink, wind down after a busy day and taste the famous "stuzzichini" prepared by our bartenders. Open from 9 am to midnight, snacks and sandwiches are also available to our guests for room service.
