These monuments have stood for 46 centuries and are considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World, possibly the most visited monuments of Egypt. The Sphinx, a feline character with the body of a lion and the face of Khufu (Cheops in Greek) is 50 meters long and 22 meters high. Carved from a single stone, it lies just before the Pyramids, and even today its meaning and origin remain shrouded in mystery.

Enjoy an included lunch at a local restaurant, then continue to Cairo and a visit to the world-famous Khan El Khalili bazaars, where the sights, sounds, spices and exotic clothing and jewelry, hand-hammered copper, ceramic ware and other treasures are waiting for your deft bargaining to win them at astounding prices. I loved that I wasn't just a number and my questions were answered by personal e-mail not a standard electronic response...I was extremely surprised that I could afford this kind of vacation for my family. I still glow when I think about it.

My husband & I just returned from the Pyramids & Petra tour. Words won't do it justice, but I'll give it a shot: The price—amazing! The guides—educated, accommodating, and excessively pleasant! The hotels—fantastic! The optional tours—A MUST! They were the best part of the whole trip, and a fantastic deal! The food—5 star! The touring coach—brand new, air-conditioned, & comfy! We were so thrilled with our experience with Friendly Planet, and all of their contractors, that we are already trying to decide which trip to take next! Thanks for providing such a top-notch experience with amazing people at such a fantastic price! We'll be repeat clients!

— Amanda Poland, Front Royal, VA

We are very happy with the entire experience of the tour. Well organized. I forgot my camera in the bus in Luxor and remembered it in Cairo! The tour guide located it and the camera was sent to me! All I had to do is make one phone call! Great job!
