Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Depart USA. Your fascinating journey begins tonight as you check-in for your flight bound for Malaysia. Your Singapore Airlines flight departs shortly after midnight on Day 2.

Day 2: En route. Cross the International Date Line and lose one day en route.

Day 3: Arrive Kuala Lumpur. Arrive today in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's modern capital. A city of contrasts, Kuala Lumpur's modern skyscrapers blend with impressive historic buildings to create a unique cityscape. Despite its rapid modernization, Kuala Lumpur still retains its wonderful mix of people, culture and traditions. Thanks in large part to its multicultural population, the city is a culinary mecca with excellent restaurants at every turn. Enjoy the balance of the day at leisure to explore this fascinating metropolis. Mandarin Oriental (B)

Day 4: Kuala Lumpur. This morning, embark on a half-day panoramic city tour including visits to the King's Palace, the National Museum, the National Monument, the Moorish-style railway station, and the superb buildings at the Independence Square, where you can observe the contrast between historical architecture and modern skyscrapers in an abundant setting of greenery. Conclude the tour at a local handicraft center and a photo stop at the magnificent Petronas Twin Towers, the world's tallest buildings from 1998 to 2004.

After your tour, continue sightseeing on your own. Be sure to set aside time for some souvenir shopping. You'll definitely want to bring back some of Malaysia's gorgeous, lavishly colored batiks, jewelry and handicrafts and the Central Market in Kuala Lumpur is a wonderful place to find them. (B)

Day 5: Langkawi. After breakfast this morning, set out for Langkawi, the breathtaking "Island of Mystical Legends." Southeast Asia's first UNESCO Global Geopark, this cluster of 99 islands offers world-class beaches, lush, tropical scenery, friendly locals, fascinating myths and legends, and exclusive resorts full of exotic ambience. Day 6–8: Langkawi. Enjoy three fabulous days at leisure at your deluxe beachfront resort. The island of Langkawi offers an abundance of diverse activities sure to please all types of travelers.

If you're looking to experience the beautiful countryside and the peaceful landscape of rice paddy fields, rent a car or bike and take a leisurely ride around the island. Some of Langkawi's most rustic scenes and memorable views can be found along the road that circles the island. You'll pass small villages with wooden houses framed by palm trees, and local children pedaling their bicycles on an errand.

Outdoor adventure enthusiasts can trek through the pristine rainforest that blankets most of Langkawi, take a boat tour of the mangroves, or go diving to experience Langkawi's vibrant underwater world. If you are looking to explore the area further, hop on a ferry to Georgetown on nearby Penang Island for a day trip.

In addition, take advantage of all of the fantastic facilities at the award-winning Berjaya Langkawi Beach & Spa Resort. Indulge yourself with a rejuvenating massage treatment at the spa, try your hand at thrilling water sport activities, take an invigorating dip in the pool or Jacuzzi, or simply relax on the sun-kissed, palm-lined beaches. Day 9: Singapore. After breakfast this morning, enjoy an excellent tour of this tranquil island. Visit a selection of historical sites including the Tomb of Mahsuri, Eagle's Square, and Galeria Perdana. En route to the airport, stop at a batik village where you can shop for local handicrafts. Transfer to the airport for your short flight to Singapore.(B)

Day 10: Depart Singapore/Arrive USA. Bid farewell to Singapore as you transfer to the airport for your return flight to the USA. You exotic Far East adventure ends when your flight arrives back in San Francisco later today. (B)
