Blending the comforts of modern amenities with village life-style, Janka Resort offers its guests the best of both worlds. Set amidst paddy fields in an old village house, visitors can enjoy glimpses of rural life in Bhutan. In a serene and calm setting, the resort is located a few minutes drive from all the tourist attractions in Paro. The location is suitable for those who wish to enjoy fresh air and tranquility. In spring, guests can see the local farmers working the plantations, a scene lost in most parts of urban Bhutan. In summer, the resort is surrounded in the rich color of the ripening paddy. Come autumn the farmers are back in the fields cutting, threshing, and winnowing the harvest from dawn till dusk.
Janka Resort strives to make your stay comfortable and enriching. It offers its guests the experience of being close to nature in peaceful and quiet surroundings. For interested guests, participation in rural farming can be arranged.
The resort has 17 spacious superior rooms, 4 deluxe rooms, and 1 junior suite. The large windows allow sufficient light and fresh air in the room as well as provide breathtaking views of the mountains, rice fields, old houses, and monasteries. All rooms have an attached bathroom, toilet, running hot/cold water, and are furnished with many amenities for the guest's comfort.
In addition to variety of local dishes, the Janka Resort restaurant serves Chinese, Indian and Continental cuisine. Most of the rice, vegetables, and fruits are grown on the resort farm or purchased from local farmers. All food items are organically grown and harvested using traditional Butanese methods.
