Situated on the west coast, the InterContinental Beachcomber Resort Tahiti basks in the heart of a magnifi-cent park of 30 acres in Tahiti. The hotel, whose local architecture is harmoniously integrated among the gardens and coconut groves, has two overflowing or infinite swimming pools, one of which is sand bottomed. Beyond the lagoon the blue ocean is marked on the horizon by the silhouette of Moorea, profiled by the setting sun.

The hotel offers classic lodging facilities in air-conditioned rooms on three levels of the main building. The deluxe "Panoramic" Rooms are decorated in a 1930s colonial style and overlook the sand bottomed pool, the lagoon and the island of Moorea.The "Ocean" and "Garden View" Rooms are fully renovated in the same style of the Panoramic Rooms. All rooms are decorated in colonial Polynesian style with bamboo floors and include modern amenities of international standard.

Synonymous of romance and comfort, the Overwater Bungalows with direct access to the lagoon are the image of Polynesian accommo-dation. They are available in Junior Suites with the Bungalow Lagoon set out over deeper water, and the Bungalow Motu grouped around a private Motu (island).

To guarantee its clients a high quality cuisine that is worthy of the exceptional setting offered by the hotels of the InterContinental Beachcomber Resorts chain, the Auberge de l'Ill, a 3 star restaurant in the "Guide Michelin" in France, was contacted in 2001 to act as a gastronomic consultant to create new menus for the hotel. He produced new versions of traditional recipes --adding just the right exotic touches.

Le Lotus has become the privileged theater of an ever-changing menu. The Tiki Bar is the hotel's main bar, located on the ground level a few steps from the restaurant Tiare and the swimming pool. Its authentic setting, with sculpted posts representing different tikis and its roof of woven pandanus, offers a warm Polynesian style atmosphere. Admire a fantastic view of the infinity pool and Moorea in the distance.

Among drinks served at the bar are fresh fruit juices, international liquor, local and international beer and tropical homemade cocktails. The bar is open daily from 10:00 AM to midnight, with musical entertainment in the evenings.

The activities desk located in the reception area will be pleased to provide information on all land and water activities available at the Beachcomber Resort in Tahiti. In addition to the hotel’s two gorgeous fresh water pools, the following is offered for guests: scuba diving with diving lessons, snorkeling, jet skiing, ATV’s, Cruises, glass bottom boats, kayaks, aquagym, water skiing, deep sea fishing, tennis, soccer, volleyball, sunbathing reef pontoon, whale watching, island tours, safaris, day trips to Moorea and Tetaiaroa, an 18 hole championship golf course, jogging track, and private beaches.

Finally, in exclusivity for the hotel, the celebrated Grands Ballets de Tahiti performs several marvelous shows each week, retracing the adventures of the Bounty.
