Itinerary at a Glance
Tuesday, March 22: Depart USA/Israel. Departure on the first leg of our overnight trip to Israel. Aloft, we will have dinner, a little sleep time, breakfast, and the opportunity to praise the Lord for His great creation from the vantage point of 35,000 feet!
Wednesday, March 23: Tel Aviv, Israel. Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv. Meet your guide who will assist you with customs formalities and escort you to your waiting touring coach. En route to your Tel Aviv hotel, drive through Jaffa, ancient seaport and home of Simon the Tanner. Dan Panorama Hotel, Tel Aviv Dinner provided.
Thursday, March 24: Caesarea, Mount Carmel, Megiddo & Tiberias. After breakfast at the hotel, drive north along the Mediterranean Sea to Caesarea, Roman capital of Judea. View the beautifully restored theater, the new excavations, and the ruins of the ancient town, its harbor and aqueduct. Then, travel inland to Megiddo (Biblical Armageddon), with excavations of 20 layers of civilization. Continue to Muhraka on Mt Carmel, where Elijah defeated the priests of Ba'al then on to Tiberias and your hotel on the Sea of Galilee for dinner and overnight. Friday, March 25 : Capernaum, Mount of Beatitudes & Banias. Set sail on the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum and visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue. Continue to Tabgha, site of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes and the Mount of Beatitudes, site of the Sermon on the Mount. Drive through the Hula Valley to Banias, ancient Caesarea Philippi, at the foot of Mount Hermon. After ascending the Golan Heights, visit the former Syrian fortifications, then drive along the eastern side of the Sea of Galilee to Kursi, where Jesus cast out the demons from the man of Gedara. Time for a stop at Yardenit, a special site on the Jordan River, for a Baptism Service. Breakfast & dinner provided.
Saturday, March 26: Jordan Valley, Beit She'an, Dead Sea. Visit the excavated boat dating from the time of Jesus at Nof Ginossar, then drive to Cana, site of Jesus' first miracle, and Nazareth, His boyhood home, including a visit to Nazareth Village, an authentic recreation of the town during Bible times. Continue south via the Jordan Valley to Beit She'an, an extraordinary excavation of an ancient Roman city, then continue to the Dead Sea for dinner and overnight. Sunday, March 27: Dead Sea, Masada, Qumran & Jerusalem. After breakfast, ascend by cable car to experience the historic fortress of Masada, where Jewish defenders made their last stand against Rome (AD73). Continue to Ein Gedi, David's waterfall and a wonderful nature center. Visit Qumran to see the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls where found and then drive up to Jerusalem, arriving in time for dinner and overnight. Monday, March 28: Old City of Jerusalem. Experience the beauty and topography of Jerusalem from the Mt. of Olives and its famous churches. Walk down the Palm Sunday path past Dominus Flevit Chapel ("Our Lord Wept"). Visit the ancient olive trees in the Garden of Gethsemane (Jn.18), then continue with a walking tour of the Old City, visiting St. Anne's Church, Pool of Bethesda, Pilate's Judgment Hall, Via Dolorosa and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Proceed to St. Peter Gallicantu Church, which commemorates Peter's three denials and the "cock crow." End the day at the Garden Tomb for a group Communion service. Breakfast & dinner provided.
Tuesday, March 29: Old & New City of Jerusalem. Return to the Old City to enter the Rabbinic Tunnels under the Western Wall. Explore the Southern Wall Excavations and take a walking tour of the Old City and the Jewish Quarter, with free time to shop for last-minute souvenirs. Later, visit Yad Vashem, memorial to the Holocaust, where ever-changing and new exhibits make this one of the most visited and revered museums in the world. Breakfast & dinner provided.
Wednesday, March 30: Jerusalem. Today we'll explore the Jewish Quarter of the Old City, beginning at the Cardo, the ancient Roman road that once served as the main thoroughfare of the city and is now a shopping area. Visit the Western Wall area and its new ongoing excavations. At the Temple Mount, climb the grand staircase that led to the main entrances to the temple area. Enjoy a special tour of the City of David, including new excavations to the Siloam Pool and the Hill of Ophel plus Hezekiah's Tunnel, time and weather permitting. Farewell dinner tonight at the hotel. Breakfast & dinner provided.
Thursday, March 31: Israel/USA. Early morning transfer to Ben Gurion Airport to board your flight. Arrive in the USA later this afternoon. Breakfast provided.
