Day 1: Depart USA. Depart on our overnight flight to Israel. Aloft, we will have dinner, time to sleep, breakfast, and the opportunity to praise the Lord for His beautiful creation from the vantage point of 35,000 feet!
Day 2: Tel Aviv. Arrival at Ben Gurion airport near Tel Aviv. Welcome to Tel Aviv, Israel 's largest city. After customs, transfer to your centrally located hotel for check-in. En route to your hotel, drive through Jaffa, ancient Seaport and Home of Simon the Tanner. Welcome dinner at hotel. Hotel Dan Panorama, Tel Aviv. Dinner provided.
Day 3: Tel Aviv, Caesarea, Megiddo, Mt. Carmel & Tiberias. After breakfast at the hotel, drive north along the Mediterranean Sea to Caesarea, Roman capital of Judea. View the beautifully restored theater, the new excavations, and the ruins of the ancient town, its harbor and aqueduct. Then, travel inland to Megiddo (Biblical Armageddon), with excavations of 20 layers of civilization. Continue to Muhraka on Mt Carmel, where Elijah defeated the priests of Ba'al then on to Tiberias and your hotel on the Sea of Galilee for dinner and overnight. Nof Ginossar Tiberias (B, D)
Day 4: Capernaum,Mount of Beatitudes & Banias. Set sail on the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum and visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue. Continue to Tabgha, site of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes and the Mount of Beatitudes, site of the Sermon on the Mount. Drive through the Hula Valley to Banias, ancient Caesarea Philippi, at the foot of Mount Hermon. After ascending the Golan Heights, visit the former Syrian fortifications then drive along the eastern side of the Sea of Galilee to Kursi, where Jesus cast out the demons from the man of Gedara (B, D).
Day 5: Jordan Valley, Beit She’an, Dead Sea. Visit the Kibbutz Ginosar to view an excavated boat dating from the time of Jesus. Then drive to Cana, the site of Jesus’ first miracle—the transformation of water into wine at the Marriage of Cana—and later a miracle of healing. Next, visit Nazareth, His boyhood home, where He lived with Joseph and Mary. Continue driving south through the Jordan Valley to Jericho, the oldest known city in the world. It is near Jericho that Jesus was baptized by St. John the Baptist. Continue to the Dead Sea, the lowest place on Earth at 1365 feet below sea level, for dinner and overnight stay. Day 6: Dead Sea, Masada, En Gedi, Qumran & Jerusalem. After breakfast, ascend by cable car and visit Masada, the fortress where Jewish defenders made their last stand against Romans in 73 AD. Continue to Ein Gedi, David’s waterfall and a wonderful nature center. You will also visit Qumran Caves, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Later in the afternoon arrive in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight stay. Hotel Dan Panorama, Jerusalem (B, D).
Day 7: Shiloh & Herodian. Today you will enjoy a full day visit to Shilo & Herodian (B, D)
Day 8: Jericho & Bethlehem. This morning visit Ein Karem, the birthplace of John the Baptist. Then travel to Bethlehem, Jesus’ birthplace. Here you will visit the Church of the Nativity, one of the oldest churches in the world; the Chapel of the Milk Grotto, where the Holy Family took refuge during the Slaughter of the Innocents and Shepards’ Fields in nearby Beit Sahur. Breakfast & dinner provided.
Day 9: Jerusalem. Today will be free at your leisure to explore Jerusalem on your own. Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at hotel Breakfast & dinner provided..
Day 10: Jerusalem/USA. Depart this morning on your return flight to the U.S. You will arrive in the U.S.A later today.
NOTE: Because the towns of Jericho and Bethlehem are under the administration of the Palestinian Authority, it is required that we change buses and escorts at the border for the duration of both visits.
Why not take advantage of your already-included international airfare by joining the post-tour extension to Jordan.
Day 10: Jerusalem/Jordan. Breakfast at hotel. Depart on your optional tour to Jordan today. Via Allenby Bridge. Continue to Petra for your sightseeing tour of this wonderful city which will include a horse ride. Dinner and overnight at hotel. Hotel Tybet Zaman Village, Petra Breakfast & dinner provided..
Day 11: Petra & Amman. Breakfast at hotel. Depart for Amman. Sightseeing tour on arrival. Dinner and overnight at hotel. Hotel Landmark, Amman Breakfast & dinner provided..
Day 12: Amman & Jerusalem. Breakfast at hotel. Depart for Jerusalem via Allenby Bridge where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the afternoon free at leisure. Overnight at hotel. Breakfast & dinner provided.
Day 13: Jerusalem/USA. Enjoy a free day at leisure. Private evening transfer to airport. Depart on your return flight to Portland via Newark.
