We'll have time for a swim in the Mediterranean or a stroll along the beach.
Friday, June 24: Independence Hall, Caesarea, Megiddo, Mt. Carmel, Nazareth & Tiberias. After breakfast, we begin our touring with a moving visit to Independence Hall, the place where the modern State of Israel was established in May, 1948. We then drive north along the Mediterranean Sea to Caesarea, the Roman capital of Judea, to view the beautifully restored theater, the ruins of the ancient town, its harbor and aqueduct. Next we travel inland to Megiddo (biblical Armageddon), and continue to Mukhraka on Mt. Carmel, where Elijah defeated the priests of Baal. We stop at Nazareth Village, where we will experience life as it was in Jesus' boyhood home. We continue to our Kibbutz Guest House at Nof Ginossar, on the Sea of Galilee, for a special Shabbat (Sabbath) dinner.
Sunday, June 26: Banias, Tel Dan, & Golan Heights. After breakfast we drive through the HulaValley to Banias (ancient Caesarea Philippi), at the foot of Mt. Hermon. We continue on to nearby Tel Dan, where we'll enjoy a beautiful nature walk and explore the biblical significance of the area. After ascending the Golan Heights, we visit Mt. Bental for a glimpse into Israel's modern history. Our last stop for the day is Mt. Arbel, where a short hike takes us to a magnificent overlook of the Sea of Galilee. Return to Nof Ginossar for dinner and a time of fellowship, rest, and reflection.

After breakfast we drive south via the Jordan Valley to Beit She'an, an extraordinary excavation of an ancient Roman city, followed by a visit to Belvoir Crusader Castle. Then we continue south through the Jordan Valley to Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. We will arrive at our hotel in time for a dip (float) in the mineral-filled waters of the Dead Sea. Dinner and overnight in our hotel by the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth!
