Our Touring Program

Day 1: Depart USA. Your fascinating "Down Under" discovery begins today as you board your flight bound for Australia.

Day 2: En Route. Cross the International Date Line and lose one day en route.

Day 3: Arrive Sydney. Morning arrival in spectacular Sydney, Australia's oldest and most vibrant city. A guided tour takes in the old and the new. See the Harbor Bridge, Sydney's famous beaches, the Botanical Gardens, the celebrated Opera House and the historic Rocks area. Later, join a welcome briefing at your hotel. Corus Hotel Sydney

Day 4 - 7: Sydney. Four days at leisure to explore fascinating Sydney, host to the 2000 Olympics. Your first class hotel is ideally located in the city center near the scenic Sydney Harbor and the renowned Opera House within easy access to restaurants, shopping and many other city attractions. Your local host can suggest optional tours or ideas for independent exploring and dining. You may join an optional Coffee Cruise or a dinner cruise on the spectacular Sydney Harbor. On another optional excursion you'll visit the scenic Blue Mountains and Australia Wildlife Park where you can cuddle a koala! (B).

Day 8: Sydney/USA. Today, bid farewell to Sydney as you board your return flight or start your Tahiti extension. (B)

Tahiti 2 Night Extension

Why not take advantage of your already included international airfare and add a 2-night visit to the magical island paradise of Tahiti? Experience the legendary Polynesian hospitality as you savor Tahiti's main island. Here, you'll enjoy time to relax or swim in the warm waters along the scenic coast.

Day 8/Day 7: Depart Sydney, Arrive Tahiti. Late Morning you'll bid farewell to Sydney and fly to the beautiful paradise islands of Tahiti. Cross the International Date Line and regain the day "lost" at the beginning of your trip, arriving in Tahiti on the evening of day 7. It seems as though you're going back in time when you arrive one day earlier! You'll be welcomed with a traditional floral lei and escorted to your deluxe beachfront resort hotel. Day 8: Tahiti. Admire the amazing ocean views as you enjoy a day at leisure in Tahiti. Relax at the beach or the pool, or take advantage of optional guided tours of the island, the colorful central market in the capital, Papeete, the lovely James Norman Hall Home, dedicated to the co-author of The Mutiny on the Bounty, and other sites. You may also take a  30-minute catamaran ride across the bay to Tahiti's stunning sister island, Moorea. Radisson Plaza Resort (B)

Day 9: Tahiti/Evening Departure. Enjoy another full day on Tahiti to relax, explore and shop for island treasures. Later this evening, transfer to the airport to board your overnight return flight to the USA. (B)

Day 10: Arrive USA. Arrival in the USA later today.

Waitlisting on Friendly Planet Sold-Out Departures: If your preferred departure is sold out, you can place yourself on a waitlist by completing the online reservation form and submitting it to us. Just click on the "waitlist" button, complete the form and click "submit". In the comments box at the very bottom of the form, please write any notes regarding your request, especially any flexibility you might have in your dates of travel. This way, if your first choice doesn't clear, we can try for a second or third choice. We will make every effort to clear your space in a timely way so that you can join us on tour. You do not need to send any deposits for waitlists. When we clear your space, we'll contact you immediately by phone or email, and if you still wish to travel, we will arrange for deposits or payments at that time. We regret that we cannot accept waitlists beyond 35 days prior to departure. If you see "sold out" next to the dates you wish to reserve or waitlist, please note that this departure is now closed, including waitlist possibilities.
