Detailed Itinerary

Costa Concordia Cruise: Italy, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus & Egypt tour itinerary Day 1: Depart USA. Your exciting Eastern Mediterranean journey begins this evening as you check-in for your overnight jet flight bound for Rome.

Day 2: Arrive Rome, Italy. Arrive in Rome, vibrant capital of Italy. After customs formalities, you'll be escorted to Civitavecchia to board the Costa Concordia for your exciting Mediterranean cruise. Dinner provided.

Savona port Day 3: Savona/Genoa. With origins dating back to the middle of the Bronze Age, Savona is an area rich in culture. Its ancient structures and winding streets are just minutes from the birthplace of Christopher Columbus. Explore on your own, or join an optional shore excursion to Genoa, Liguria's capital and ancient Maritime Republic. Breakfast, lunch & dinner provided.

Costa Concordia indoor pool Day 4: At sea. All the fantastic facilities of the ship are available to you as you spend a leisurely day at sea. Stroll the ample decks, enjoy an invigorating dip in the pool, and take advantage of the many leisure activities aboard your luxury ship. Breakfast, lunch & dinner provided.

Artist's impression of Ancient Olympia Day 5: Katakolon & Olympia, Greece. Your ship docks this morning at Katakolon, a small port founded in the first half of the 19th century. Nearby is legendary Olympia, one of the most important mythological sites in traditional Greece and the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Enjoy the attractions on your own or take advantage of various optional tours that take you through the ruins of ancient Olympia and other sites. Breakfast, lunch & dinner provided.

The Parthenon in Athens Day 6: Piraeus/Athens, Greece. Arrive into Piraeus, the port of Athens, early this morning. Athens, the birthplace of western civilization, is a modern city of six million inhabitants and was host to the 2004 Olympic Games. Choose from a number of optional tours that visit the Acropolis, the Plaka, Corinth and the Canal, and Cape Sounion. Breakfast, lunch & dinner provided.

A seaside cafe in Izmir Day 7: Izmir, Turkey. This morning, explore Izmir, Turkey's second largest city, thanks to its busy port and intense industrial activity. Located within a beautiful bay and surrounded by lovely hills, the town has evolved into a modern metropolis from which some of Turkey's most important ancient treasures are easily explored, including Ephesus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Breakfast, lunch & dinner provided.

Port of Rhodes Day 8: Rhodes, Greece. Today you'll visit Rhodes, the beautiful "Island of Roses." In the heart of the island's biggest city, also named Rhodes, is the largest inhabited medieval town in Europe, a fascinating web of Byzantine, Turkish and Latin ruins. Its mighty fortifications provide the finest surviving examples of defensive architecture of the time.

Lindos, with its whitewashed houses clustered beneath a soaring castle-capped acropolis, is Rhodes' most picturesque village and most important Doric settlement because of its natural harbor and vantage point built 125 meters above sea level. Wander about on your own or take advantage of optional shore excursions. Breakfast, lunch & dinner provided.

Day 9: Limassol, Cyprus. Today, enjoy a unique opportunity to experience a taste of both Turkey and Greece as you visit the stunning island nation of Cyprus. Located at the junction of Europe, Asia and Africa, Cyprus is rich in culture, history and tradition. Yet, despite these varying influences, Cyprus retains its own unique and charming character.

Carnival in Limassol, Cyprus Prepare for a warm reception by locals, as Cyprus is well-known for its welcoming spirit of philoxenia, or friendship toward guests. During your visit, explore Limassol's numerous archeological sites, sunny Mediterranean beaches, charming villages, ancient ruins and distinctive local cultures. Breakfast, lunch & dinner provided.

Sphinx by Pompey's Pillar, Alexandria Day 10: Alexandria, Egypt. Arrive this morning in Alexandria, Egypt's second largest city and ancient capital. Its history as the cradle of ancient Egyptian civilization makes it an ideal starting point for exploring the wonders of Egyptian art, architecture and culture, while its seaside location gives it a laid-back, Mediterranean ambience.

Alexandria harbor, Egypt Soak up atmosphere along Corniche promenade, which offers easy access to the city's major attractions, including the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a recreation of the world's most famous ancient library. Spend the day exploring Alexandria or join optional shore excursions to Cairo and the Pyramids at Giza. Breakfast, lunch & dinner provided.

Day 11: At sea. Rest and relax onboard after yesterday's long day of touring. Breakfast, lunch & dinner provided.

Day 12: At sea. Enjoy a final day at sea en route to Rome. Breakfast, lunch & dinner provided.

Trevi Fountain, Rome Day 13: Rome. Arrive in Rome this morning. After breakfast, disembark from your cruise and enjoy a full day to explore Rome, the Eternal City. You'll find a treasure trove of ancient ruins, art, music and architecture, religious passion, all juxtaposed against the frenetic pace and cutting edge modern fashion of an ultra-modern European city. Your hotel is ideally located within short distance of many major attractions, as well as the best shopping and dining. Breakfast provided.

Colosseum, Rome Day 14: Rome/USA. Your Mediterranean journey ends as you say "arrivederci Italia" and transfer independently to the airport for your return flight to the USA. Arrive in the USA later today. Or, continue your stay in Italy by adding a late return and extra nights to your package. Breakfast provided.
