Falls Safari Lodge
Situated high on a plateau which forms a natural boundary to the Zambezi National Park, the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge enjoys uninterrupted views and spectacular African sunsets and is just four kilometres from the majestic Victoria Falls. From the on-site waterhole to the thatch finishes and local hardwoods, the theme of the Safari Lodge is one of human sensitivity to its natural surrounds.
Designed to give the impression of a vast open-plan tree-house, the Lodge is built on intricate levels offering magnificent views of the African bushveld. The use of vibrant fabrics and rustic finishes, local hardwoods and clay tiles gives Victoria Falls Safari Lodge an undeniable appeal and unique character.
All bedrooms have a private balcony looking across the national park and are equipped with binoculars and nature books. Natural fabrics and décor with an African theme are used throughout the lodge. The rooms have remote controlled air conditioning and ceiling fans. Tea and coffee facilities and room safes are available, as well as direct dial telephones with self programming wake-up facility. The standard rooms feature a bathroom with luxury bath and separate shower.
In the Buffalo Bar, Makuwa-Kuwa Restaurant, and pool deck you will enjoy not only the wonderful views, but excellent service from friendly Zimbabwean staff renowned for their warmth and understanding of the needs of international visitors.
Specializing in a superb selection of Zimbabwean dishes, fish, a variety of game meat and potjiekos (hunter's stew) as well as vegetarian meals - diners are invited to sample ethnic delicacies and observe local customs. The sights and sounds of the evening are accentuated by Ndebele performers who captivate guests with their energetic songs and dance. Steeped in mystery, a witchdoctor can predict your future while the restaurant's very own sangoma (traditional story teller) explains the country's folklore, culture and heritage.
The area has become the premier adventure resort of Africa and a vast range of activities are available to suit every traveller. Explore the magnificent bushveld from the saddle of an African elephant! Trips are available during the early morning, when a surprise bush breakfast is served, or during the late afternoon, when guests can savor a magical African sunset ~ as well as sundowners and snacks.
