Namib Desert Lodge sits at the foot of a red sandstone cliff, which consists of the fossilized dunes of ancient Namib. It is situated just 60 km north of Sesriem, and is the gateway to Sossusvlei. It is only 5 kms from the main road and is in the Gondwana Namib Park, bordering Namib Naukluft Park.
Namib Desert Lodge is set amongst tall trees and palms with the main building and the chalets spread out along the foot of the fossilized dunes. There are 65 en suite rooms fitted with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, a fan, and mosquito nets.
The restaurant serves breakfast and dinner buffet style and a small selection of light lunches can be ordered on request. The cozy bar is well-stocked with South African wines.
Namib Desert Lodge has an inviting terrace with views of the dunes, as well as two swimming pools for guests to relax. Oryx antelope and springbok make frequent appearances at the illuminated watering place seen from the lodge.
