The hotel takes its name from the land on which it was built, Le Jardine du Roy, a property belonging to ancestors of the king of Bara. The hotel was designed to blend into the pristine natural environment. The roof's high slopes mimic that of the surrounding rocks. All of the granite on the property has been selected one by one and hand-carved to reproduce the colors of the massif. The entire hotel has been built with local materials common in Malagasy construction including rosewood and marble. It is conveniently located near Ranohira and the entrance to Isalo National Park.
The experienced staff of Jardin du Roy consists of local villagers who are friendly, professional, and willing to accommodate any need. With 15 air conditioned rooms (25 are under construction and will open soon) the breathtaking natural scenery will never cease to amaze you throughout your stay. Each spacious and comfortable room is equipped with a bath or shower and has a private verandah which opens onto a garden area. Due to conservation efforts, electricity is available from 6 to 10 in the morning and from 2 pm until midnight.
Meals are served in a spacious dining room which features an open fire pit, perfect for cool winter mornings. There is a bar which serves various beers, wines, and cocktails as well a pool table for your entertainment.
Jardin du Roy has a swimming pool perfect for taking a dip on a hot afternoon. There is also an Equestrian club on the property which allows guests to discover the vast areas surrounding the hotel on horseback. For a more refreshed approach to your vacation discover the massages, facials, peels and wraps offered at Briggite Spa. It is the perfect place to relax and reflect after a busy day in Madagascar.
