The Hluhluwe Inn Hotel is situated in the heart of KwaZulu Natal,
one of the most unique wildlife areas in the world. Set in the
heart of the Kingdom of the Zulu and the beautiful untamed Elephant
Coast, Hluhluwe Hotel & Safaris is renowned for its African
ambiance, excellent cuisine and personal touch provided by friendly
staff and owners Patrick and Jill Eliot who live by their motto
"Hospitality is our Game". This family run getaway
lies within close proximity to the convergence of a world-renowned
game reserve, a World Heritage Site and a pristine marine sanctuary,
creating an eco-system of unparalleled bio-diversity.
The
hotel has 67 spacious fully air-conditioned en-suite bedrooms,
with television, telephone, tea & coffee making facilities.
Daily laundry service is available.
The Hotel offers excellent cuisine together with a wine list
of South Africa's most interesting wines to compliment the atmosphere
of the cultural charm of its restaurant. Hluhluwe Inn guests
have a choice between the indoor restaurant, the Inkonkoni,
or the outdoor restaurant, the Impala Terrace, both of which
offer superb a la carte / buffet cuisine.
After
an educating and exciting day of game viewing in the Zululand
bush, why not join the people you've met in the Rhino Horn Bar?
The infamous Rhino Bar inside the hotel was a famous watering
hole in the seventies and a bullet hole remains as proof of
the untamed spirit of the early years. A magnificent outdoor
bar on the swimming pool terrace, under a gigantic Umkanyakude
(Fever Tree) provides the perfect setting for the Zulu dance
shows and sundowners in the evenings.
The Hotels safari company, "Hluhluwe Safaris" arranges
three, six and nine hour safaris into the game reserve. Champagne
breakfasts, bush braai's, lunch packs as well as picnics in
the Park can also be arranged on request. Qualified field guides
will take you on safari in comfortable, modern open game drive
vehicles. Other activities available include horse riding, golf,
coral reef diving, game drives, boat cruises, tours of St. Lucia
estuary, fishing, whale watching, and turtle tours.
