The M/V Via Australis welcomes you aboard for a spectacular and scenic cruise to Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego. The Via Australis is the newest addition to the Cruceros Australis fleet, the National Geographic Channel's preferred cruise line for sailing through Patagonia. The ship is a small, first-class cruiser, specially designed to sail through rugged Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego.
The M/V Via Australis travels with a passenger maximum of 132 passengers. The ship's 64 cabins feature large windows for your view pleasure. Other cabin amenities include twin beds, adjustable heat/air-conditioning, safety deposit box, and a private bathroom.
Dining aboard the Via Australis is truly a feast for the senses. Each morning, enjoy a buffet breakfast. For lunch and dinner, choose from regional specialties complemented by Chilean and Argentinean wines. Best of all, you'll enjoy magnificent panoramic views as you dine.
As a unique feature to guests, the Via Australis offers lectures, slide shows, and other activities in the Yamana Lounge. The lounge features panoramic views, cozy furniture, a bar, and a small library stocked with reference materials on the region. The Sky Lounge also features a full bar with spectacular panoramic views. However, some of the best views can be seen from the open outside promenade deck. For entertainment at sea, there is a game room on the third deck, complete with special card tables and other games.
Important Note: All passengers traveling aboard the M/V Via Australis will be required to sign this disclaimer during check-in for the cruise. Please note that while the cruise and the optional shore excursions are not particularly strenuous, they may involve some degree of walking and hiking. Friendly Planet representatives who recently took this cruise found the activity level for shore excursions to be moderate and suitable for most people. However, the Cruceros Australis cruise line wishes to provide as much information as possible about conditions and risks of these activities so that passengers can make an informed decision about their participation and safety.
